Information
On July 12th, 1822 Alix de Lamartine visited for the first time her daughter Eugenie who was established in Hondschoote with her husband. Like her son, Alphonse de Lamartine, she had some stays in this city. Alphonse, elected deputy of Bergues on several occasions, never wrote about the city, his mother however took notes while visiting the area, which were published in 1871 entitled "Manuscrit de ma mère". On August 26th 1822, Alix of Lamartine noted her stay in the castle of Armbouts-Cappel before leaving Hondschoote on October 15th 1822.
Quotations
