Information
Accompanied by her future husband, John Middleton Murry, Katherine Mansfield made a short, but by all accounts lively, weekend visit to D.H.Lawrence and Frieda Weekley in their holiday home in Kingsgate in July 1913. Mansfield was at the beginning of her brief literary career ,which is chiefly marked by collections of short stories and poems, many of them published posthumously. The friendship between the two couples, which was by turns tempestuous and intense, was cemented during this seaside interlude.
